CA Dealers: Doc fee update!
Starting July 1, 2012, California dealers will be allowed to charge an increased document processing fee to offset the additional vehicle history disclosure requirements and to encourage used car dealers to become DMV business partners:

- Dealers who are DMV Business Partners can charge up to $80.
- Dealers who are not DMV Business Partners can charge up to $65.
- The document processing “fee” is now called the document processing “charge”.
- The electronic title registration charges cannot be marked up.
- The DMV is authorized to limit the maximum electronic title registration charge.
